One of the many virtues of children's books is brevity, sometimes I think writers of adult fiction should take a leaf from that book,so to speak. Happy reading.

ReplyDeleteGood plan! Now my Uni stuff is over, and once my flat move is over (less than two weeks to go!) I am going to read read read! Joy. Bliss. Can't wait. And I like reading kids books: is that sad, or what?! Bed time stories to nephews are a treat. I know what you mean about whimsical: I prefer classic, dark, kids fairy tales, the type that give the little nippers the night terrors!
ReplyDeleteLis, have you read The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly? Dark and genuinely scary. In fact if you read this to your nephews you would never be allowed to babysit again!
